FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much do you charge for a new CV?
You can find our current prices on our Prices and Payments page.
We charge a flat rate (as opposed to an hourly rate) and you'll find our prices are lower than many other CV writing services in Ireland. At Career Write, we firmly believe CV/resume services like ours should be affordable for people of all different career stages and types, including those currently unemployed, so we do our best to keep our charges as low as possible.
How long will it take to receive my new CV?
Once payment is received and we have all the info we require, clients receive their new CV within 3 business days (but we'll aim to get it back to you more quickly if possible). If you urgently need a CV for a specific deadline like a job application cut off date, just let us know.
How do I provide you with the information for my new CV?
We need to know who you are, what you've done, and what you want to do!
The best and fastest way to give us this information is to email it to us at info@careerwritecvservices.ie.
Ideally, send us your previous/current CV as an attachment and in your email, let us know what updates/additions you'd like on your new CV and also what type of roles you're looking for.
If you prefer to discuss your requirements by phone, or give us the information we need that way, we're always happy to arrange a call!
Your website says you provide "Free CV reviews".
Is this a scam? Do you just tell everybody they need a new CV and take their money?
We really do provide free CV reviews and no, this is not a scam.
We often turn away potential clients because we feel their CV is perfect as is or at least beyond our abilities to make it any better. We also often receive CVs that only require a few minor changes or corrections and we reply with this information, providing a list of the changes we recommend and leaving it up to the person in question whether they'd prefer to action these personally for free or pay us to do so.
Life is too short to spend it ripping people off. As Bruce Springsteen said, "nobody wins unless everybody wins".
Do I really need to hire a professional CV writer? Why should I pay someone else to write my CV?
You don't need us or any other CV writing service to write your CV...but you do NEED a professionally laid out, error-free, grammatically correct CV that highlights your experience and achievements and is targeted towards the types of roles you're interested in.
If you hire us to do this for you, you're paying for CV experts who will save you time, research, and effort but cost you money. Not a lot of money but money just the same.
Alternatively, there are countless free online videos, templates, and advice sites that can help you to write your own CV. Here at Career Write, we offer a €25 Jobseeker Pack that contains guides on Interview Prep, Job Searching in Ireland, and yes, CV DIY for those who'd like to write their own.
If writing your own CV, use common sense...
- Double-check all spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- Remember to list your employment history in descending order (starting with your newest position at top), focusing on achievements and accomplishments over listing all duties and responsibilities.
- Keep your wording clear, concise, and free of too much industry jargon or acronyms.
- Mirror the keywords being used in the types of jobs ads you're interested in to show employers you have the exact skills and experience they're looking for rather than making them guess.
